Hey hey!

Can you believe September is already nearly over? You know what that means! Time for my favorites from this month. And it also means, it is almost my birthday (October 3rd)!!!! Libra season is upon us my friends. The best time of the year!

I did a lot of cool stuff in the month of September and tried a lot of new things. Here’s a list of my favs from this month!

  1. Big Mess, Grouploveimg_9887My favorite band of all time finally debuted their 3rd album and it would be an understatement if I said I was excited. I have been waiting years, yes YEARS, for them to release a new album. Seriously, if you haven’t heard of the band Grouplove please go check them out. They are amazing. So full of energy, life, and positivity. There’s a documentary about how they all met and came together as a band over on Youtube (check it out here). They retain their sound on this album, but one difference is there is an apparent lack of slow songs. On their first and second albums there was a good mix of upbeat tunes and slow ones, but on Big Mess, there is only one that really slows things down. And I’m ALL ABOUT IT. I love a good slow, somber tune but I love the energy they are bringing on this album. They are touring this fall as well, so go see them live in your city. They put on a hell of a show.

Favorite songs: Standing in the Sun, Don’t Stop Making it Happen, Do You Love Someone, and Cannonball.

  2. Me Undiesimg_9889

Things are getting SEXY on this post dudes. I’m showing you my undies (*insert blushing face emoji here*). I listen to a lot of podcasts and I watch a lot of Youtube videos. What does this have to do with skivvies you may ask? Everyone and their mom is endorsing Me Undies right now on Youtube and the podcasts I listen to. And they advertise themselves as “The World’s Most Comfortable Underwear.” So of course I had to see what all the hype was about. One thing that is unique with Me Undies is that you order them online exclusively (here) and they totally are the softest, most comfortable underwear my bum has ever touched. They come in a variety of styles (women’s boyshorts and bikini styles pictured above) and each month they debut a new pattern. It is kind of exciting when they debut the new month’s pattern as silly as that sounds. They also come in solids. You can buy them in bulk packs (I bought a three pack to try them out) and then ended up buying a 6 pack once I realized how awesome they are. If you need some new undies and want to try something that will not start looking busted after a few washes, try Me Undies. Your booty will thank you!

  3. Reading Tarotimg_9895

My first experience with tarot was back in June when I went to visit my friend Adam in Washington DC. He’s been reading tarot for a while now and did a reading for me, and it was insane to me how accurate it was. Tarot is not fortune telling or telling the future. It is much more of a guide than anything else. Most readings represent you in your current situation and what is challenging you at the time, and it gives you some insight into how you are dealing with things and how you could deal with things differently. It is not vague or general like horoscopes or psychics, it is in depth and can be different depending on how you read the cards. Every reading is different and every person that reads tarot interprets the cards differently, but that is the absolute beauty of it. I started studying tarot back in August, but only recently have I started to really delve into what it is and what it means to me. I do a weekly tarot reading for myself (a two card cross) and I’m getting better at interpreting the cards. It is truly a study, you have to practice frequently to become skilled at it. But it is amazing how you can come out of a reading feeling really clear headed and ready to take on whatever you are facing. 4. Gomacro macrobarsimg_9897

Over the past two months I have been tracking my macronutrients (fat, protein, and carbs) in order to live a healthier lifestyle. There is a formula to figuring out how many of each category you can have in a day depending on your fitness level, body mass index, weight, and if you are trying to gain/lose/maintain your weight. I’m not going to share my magic macro numbers on here, but in tracking them daily I keep up with my intake (kind of like counting calories). But instead of trying to hit under my macros, I want to perfectly hit my numbers every day. It is an art, but I have found that it has really worked for me. I am eating much healthier and I feel like I have so much more energy. One product that I’ve found that helps me hit my macros is Gomacro bars. They function the same way as a protein bar, but each bar is high in fat, protein, and carbs. Exactly what you need to hit your macros! And they actually taste good! They have 11 different flavors and you can find them at Whole Foods and Trader Joes, amongst other grocery stores. If you’re a macro tracker and even if you aren’t, check them out!

  5. Transparent16495989

I honestly can’t say enough about how amazing this show is. It is heartbreaking and beautiful and dramatic and hilarious. It represents the LGBTQ+ community in all of its light and darkness. It represents mental illness and family dynamics and the complications of those two thing mixed together. Jill Soloway (the director and creator of the show) somehow fits all of this together in the most beautiful and entrancing way. Transparent is an Amazon original series so if you have Amazon prime go check it out and even if you don’t it is pretty cheap to buy the seasons. Season 3 just came out last Friday (Sept. 23), and like the TV queen that I am, I binged all 10 episodes in one day. And then I felt that empty feeling of, “what now?!” Do yourself a favor and get into this show!

There you have it peeps! Check some of this stuff out, you won’t be sorry 🙂
