Hello wonderful people of the interwebz!

Happy 2017! 2017 has kicked off and I am still feeling all the good vibes and good energy that comes with the dawning of a new year. Except today shit decided to hit the fan again. I thought we decided to leave all this craziness in 2016? No? Okay.

I live in Houston, Texas. I love Texas. I spent a good amount of my childhood here and there’s something to be said about the community you feel as a Texan. One thing I do not appreciate about Texas is the political climate here. I am as far to the opposite side as you can get in regard to most of the population of Texas as far as politics go. Today, our Lieutenant Governor, (asshole Dan Patrick) introduced the Texas Privacy Act. The Texas Privacy Act, or The Texas Bathroom Bill as many are starting to call it, restricts access to public restrooms for people who identify as transgender. Patrick explained that it protects the “privacy and and safety of Texans.” Except for the fact that there are transgender Texans who now cannot go to the restroom in a public place safely.

Upon hearing this garbage, I was of course enraged. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I still after all this time and debate cannot fathom why this is such a big deal. Let people go to the bathroom where they please. It really isn’t that difficult. It is as simple as putting these law makers in the shoes of a trans person. Imagine being out in public and realizing you have to go to the bathroom. You really have to go, like you’re going to piss yourself if you don’t find a bathroom. And guess what? As hard as you look, you can’t find a bathroom. Simply because there isn’t one available for you. Of course these law makers cannot understand this though. They have never been put in this situation.

Patrick vowed to make this his number one priority. I’d like his number one priority to be fucking right off. He has made it so that businesses cannot choose to have their own policies (all gender bathrooms) as per the local government. This is not the first bill of its kind, many other conservative states have created legislature like this. Anti-LGBTQ+ bills are going to start popping up all over the place, mostly due to the fact that Trump will be taking office soon. Time to print out lots of copies of the gay agenda and scatter them all over the world. TIME TO PUT RAINBOWS ON EVERYTHING!

The second piece of WTF news I came across today was that apparently now doctors can refuse to treat transgender people and people who have had abortions, citing “religious freedom.” What a crock of shit! What happened to the Affordable Care Act? I will always stand up for women’s reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ rights, so of course this lit a fire inside of me. And guess where this lawsuit started in the first place?! TEXAS of course! And the judge that enacted it was born and raised in none other than Houston, Texas!

And the last piece of WTF news for today is Paul Ryan (Speaker of the House and general douche), announcing the the GOP will defund Planned Parenthood. I can’t say this was a surprise at this point. Planned Parenthood has taken so many hits over the past couple years. But when it comes down to it, it gives people care they need when they wouldn’t have it otherwise. How can we argue with the basis of this?

None of this makes sense to me, and this is the time we need to start rallying the troops because sadly, when Trump takes office things like this will be common. If you want ways to help visit the following links:

Call Paul Ryan at 608-752-4050 *Blow up his phone and put him on blast for being a grade A fool*

If you’re conflicted about some of these things, look at it from the viewpoint that we are all humans. We all deserve to be treated equally and we all deserve to be given the same opportunities and choices. No one is better than anyone else and no one is less than anyone else.

Move forward with compassion my loves.
